Hajia 4Reall’s legal team is pleased with a U.S. court’s decision to imprison her, as announced today.

Although the attorneys representing the Ghanaian socialite requested a 3-month prison term, the judge imposed a sentence of 1 year and 1 day in the case of U.S. v. Mona Montrage, 22 cr 617 (JPO), bringing the matter to a close.

The sentencing has brought a sense of relief to her legal team, who managed to secure a significantly reduced sentence compared to the government’s request for 37 to 46 months of imprisonment.

Hajia 4Reall faced charges related to internet fraud and had entered a guilty plea. Her legal team presented a compelling argument for leniency, highlighting her role as a single mother and emphasizing the critical importance of her presence in her child’s life.

“After achieving this result through our advocacy on behalf of our client, we are incredibly proud. Our client will issue a statement when she is ready,” announced her legal team following the sentencing.

Hajia4Reall was implicated in a romance scam that defrauded victims of $2 million. After her arrest in the United Kingdom, she was extradited to the United States to face charges. The case garnered significant attention due to her celebrity status and the scale of the fraud.

During the hearing, her defense team emphasized several mitigating factors, including her role as a single mother and the potential negative impact of prolonged separation from her child.

Additionally, her legal team argued that Loveman Allison, the father of Hajia4Reall’s daughter, was the primary perpetrator of the romance scam. They contended that he had deceived her into unwittingly laundering money from his fraudulent activities.

She recalled meeting Allison in the United States in 2015, where she developed feelings for him, unaware of his involvement in fraudulent activities at the time. According to Hajia4Reall, Allison, who had previously been arrested and incarcerated in the U.S. for internet fraud, later introduced her to his schemes.
