Ghana’s cocoa production has reached a record high this year, thanks to favorable weather conditions and improved farming practices. The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) reported a 20% increase in output compared to the previous year, with total production surpassing 1 million tonnes.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work of our farmers and the support from various stakeholders,” COCOBOD CEO Joseph Boahen Aidoo said. Enhanced training programs for farmers, better pest control measures, and timely distribution of fertilizers contributed to the bumper harvest. The increased production is expected to boost Ghana’s economy and strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading cocoa producers.
